Since it was founded in 1976, the GMPCA association (Groupe des Méthodes Pluridisciplinaires Contribuant à l'Archéologie) has aimed to develop research into multidisciplinary methods contributing to archaeology in France and around the world.
The association brings together specialists from a variety of disciplines who contribute to the resolution of archaeological and art-historical issues.
The interface between these disciplines is called “Archaeometry”.
GMPCA SYMPOSIUM
Every two years since 1977, the GMPCA has organized the Archaeometry Symposium, the scientific aim of which is to take stock of advances in applied techniques in the field of heritage, to enable young researchers to present their work and to compare research practices in heritage science in Europe and beyond.
